Admission requirements
The selection of Bulgarian students is based on an entrance exam on Mathematics. The list of admitted university candidates is arranged according to their achievement on the entrance exam and the marks on Mathematics and Physics from the secondary school diploma.

- to train highly qualified specialists at Mathematics capable to apply their deep theoretical knowledge in solving concrete problems arising in the main domains of Pure and Applied Mathematics.
Access to further studies
Students who are bachelor graduated in Mathematics can continue their education for obtaining master degree in all programs provided by the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics at the University of Sofia or by other Bulgarian and foreign universities. If not, they can find a successful realization in any institution or domain where Mathematics is used as a tool for solving practical problems. As relevant domains the industry, commerce, and state administration can be pointed out, and as appropriate institutions the banks, insurance companies, scientific institutes, high schools, universities, etc. may be indicated.
Examination and assessment procedures
The estimation of the acquired knowledge on each subject is based both on a written exam consisting in solving relevant problems and on an oral exam consisting of examination of the theoretical knowledge.

Technical facilities
For the educational purposes of the program, modern computer laboratories, multi-media projectors, laptops, laser printers, scanners, two libraries are provided. Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Linux are the commonly used operational systems in the training. Accesses to all Microsoft products, and to the entire software for development of Oracle based solutions, are permitted.
Research areas
The scientific research of the university professors is focused on the contemporary problems of Pure and Applied Mathematics and on their achievements are based a number of publications in highly ranked journals in Mathematics and CS.
