Admission requirements
The selection of Bulgarian students is based on an entrance exam on mathematics. Candidates are arranged according to their achievement on this exam and the marks on mathematics and physics from the secondary school diploma.
Goals

Providing of fundamental knowledge in basic areas of mathematics and informatics, as well as practical skills to teach them in the lower and upper secondary school. - Professional
Preparation of highly qualifies teachers on mathematics and informatics. Besides having of fundamental preparation on mathematics and informatics, the students are acquainted with the modern educational technologies and strategies in these areas.
Access to further studies
The students graduated with the bachelor degree on mathematics and informatics can continue their education in any master program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics or to get jobs as teachers on mathematics and informatics. They have a strong preparation in informatics, which allows them to work as specialist on information technologies.
The curriculum, the distribution of the subjects and the credit load, which is 60 ECTS credits per year taking into account the credit loan of each subject (required, elective, optional) from the year (semester).
Examination and assessment regulations
Assessment of each subject is based on the results on a written and an oral examinations.
Technical facilities
For educational purposes in the specialization there are modern computer laboratories, multy-media projectors, laptops, laser printers, scanners, two libraries available. Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Linu are the commonly used operational systems in the training. Access is permitted to all Microsoft products, the entire software for development of solutions based on Oracle.
Research areas
The scientific research of the professors focuses on the problems of didactics of mathematics.
