Mathematical Modelling in Economics

Degree program APPLIED MATHEMATICS

Qualification awarded: Mathematical Modelling in Economics,
Specialization: Economics
Master of Science program.

Admission requirements 
    The entrance examination comprises a test and an interview based on the list of topics. The final grade determined on the basis of the grades for the two components.
On the basis of their preferences and the entrance examination grades students are assigned to two approximately equal specialization groups:  Mathematical finance and actuarial science and Economics. 

Goal

  • Educational
    Offers knowledge in Micro – and Macroeconomics, Finance and the specific mathematical methods.
    The students will be able to apply it in practice and will have a base for continuing their education in this field. 
  • Professional
    Students will be able to solve the basic problems in the Economics. Will be able to integrate informatics with mathematical and statistical methods in modeling and take the right decisions. 

Access to further studies 
     The program gives a base for continuing the education as PhD students in Mathematical Modelling and Applications in Economics, Finance and Insurance.

Examination and assessment regulations

Final examination: Theoretical exam and practical project/test.

Technical facilities 
     In order to organize the education, the program uses lecture halls and computer laboratories of the Faculty.
 
Research areas
    The Professors’ research is in the field of mathematical modeling in economics, mathematical finance and insurance, as well as in the basic topics of mathematical science.
