Focus, educational goals

The Master's program "Innovation and Multidisciplinarity in Teaching Mathematics, Computer Modelling and Information Technology" is designed for candidates with a professional qualification "Teacher of Mathematics" and one of the professional qualifications "Teacher of Informatics" or "Teacher of Information Technology".

The duration of the program is two-semesters.

Its aim is to increase the professional qualification of specialists with a bachelor's degree in the field of teaching mathematics, computer modelling and information technology. The program is designed not only to upgrade the basic knowledge of students in each of the fields of Mathematics, Information Technology and Theory of Education, but also to achieve a synergistic effect of their integration in the training of these specialists.

Training (knowledge and skills)

The training in the master's program is based on a combination of disciplines in different scientific fields, concerning the professional competencies related to the highly specialized training expected from the teachers of Mathematics and Information Technology. Fundamental knowledge in many areas of mathematics is upgraded with strategies and tactics for problem solving, learning design and modern educational technologies.

The current focus of the program is the development of competencies in the field of cognitive processes, the game approach in learning, heuristics and their synergy with the classical approaches in learning.

The curriculum of the program contains disciplines in the field of Computer Modelling and Information Technology, which provide an opportunity for advanced training of teachers in this dynamic and rapidly changing field.

Another specializing aspect of the curriculum is the preparation of students to carry out pedagogical research, to analyze the collected data, to make reasoned and scientifically sound conclusions and to apply them in the design of education.

Professional competence

Masters graduating from the Master's Program "Innovation and Multidisciplinarity in Teaching Mathematics, Computer Modeling and Information Technology" have theoretical knowledge, practical skills and professional competencies that allow them to work effectively in any form and degree of education in mathematics and information technology. The learning process, implemented according to the proposed curriculum, gives students in-depth theoretical knowledge, practical skills and research opportunities in the fields of mathematics education, information technology education and educational theory.

Upon graduation, the masters will have professional competencies (knowledge, skills and responsible attitude) through which to:

  • Design the teaching / learning process in the SP in IT in accordance with specific objectives of the educational environment and on the basis of the regulatory framework.
  • Apply tactics and strategies to solve problem situations.
  • Manage cognitive processes with specific teaching methods and tools.
  • Organize and conduct pedagogical research, analyze the collected data and draw sound conclusions.
  • Develop educational concepts, modify existing and adapt general principles to a specific educational environment.

Professional realization

Masters graduating from the master's program "Educational technologies in specialized preparation in IT" can take any position in the education system and not only in it, such as:

  • teacher of information technology and informatics in specialized classes in high school;
  • lecturer in information technology and / or informatics in another educational institution;
  • training designer and lecturer in the company training units of an IT company;
  • training designer and lecturer in the company training units of an IT company;
