Focus, educational goals

The master's program in mathematical modeling in economics envisages the mastery of a variety of mathematical and informatic tools, providing theoretical and practical knowledge applicable to economic sciences or directly to practical work (finance, insurance, company management, etc.).

Training (knowledge and skills)

The master's program includes courses in the main areas of Mathematics (Optimization Problems, Probabilistic and Statistical Methods, Numerical Methods, Dynamic Problems), allowing to model, investigate and optimize specific phenomena and processes in the economy. The practical applicability is based on in-depth knowledge of Macroeconomics, Financial Instruments and Markets, Insurance, Sstatistical Data Processing, etc., combined with skills to apply modern Information Technologies.

Professional competence

The teaching in the program, even in the traditional economics disciplines, is distinguished by a high degree of use of mathematical tools at a level comparable to that of the usual university economics programs designed to obtain the educational degree of Ph.D.

Professional realization

Graduates of the program can work as quantitative Analysis Specialists in the Financial Industry, Risk Analysts in banks and actuaries. The scientific preparation gives the opportunity to continue the education in doctoral programs.
